L S Lowry

Traveling around our own country is probably one of the things Chris and I do as often as we can.  It gives us lots of things to blog about and it also widens our cultural knowledge.

Recently we went to Manchester and visited the L S Lowry Gallery at Salford Quays.  L S Lowry is a painter who painted industrial and urban life in the North West of England.  We were not really familiar with his work apart from the obvious painting of Coming from the Mill which features his “matchstick men”

Anyway, we thought we would have a look around.  It was a great place to spend a couple of hours.  If you are ever in the area you should go and have a look.
